Arsenal’s future plans for their players have been revealed in an exclusive substack column by renowned football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, in partnership with CaughtOffside.

According to Romano, the Gunners will make a decision on the future of Kieran Tierney at the end of the season, while the long-term future of Nuno Tavares, currently out on loan at Marseille, will also be evaluated at the end of the campaign.

In the interim, Arsenal’s main priority is to focus on winning the Premier League, and as such, they are not currently in talks with any club regarding the potential transfer of either player. However, Romano suggests that the Gunners are likely to consider cashing in on one or both of the defenders during the upcoming summer transfer window.

At present, Arsenal sit at the top of the Premier League table, and understandably, they do not want to be distracted by transfer talks. Nonetheless, given the high potential of Tierney and the need for a deep squad to compete in multiple competitions, the club should work to convince the Scottish defender to stay and fight for a place in the starting lineup alongside Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Looking ahead to next season, the Gunners are expected to play in the Champions League, and as a result, rotation will be crucial. Given his talent and ability, Tierney should be given ample opportunities to play, provided he stays fit and impresses in training.

The end of the season will prove to be a crucial time for Arsenal, as they determine the futures of both Tierney and Tavares.

In the meantime, the focus remains on winning the Premier League and maintaining the impressive form that has put them at the top of the table.
