In a recent development, Ben White, the Arsenal defender, has revealed that he completely ignored Manchester City’s massive victory over Liverpool in their highly-anticipated Premier League clash on Saturday. This was reportedly due to the fact that the player doesn’t watch football.

City’s dominant performance over Liverpool saw them clinch a decisive 4-1 win at the Etihad Stadium, thereby piling the pressure on the long-time Premier League leaders. Despite the five-point gap between the two clubs, Arsenal responded with an equally convincing win against struggling Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.

White was instrumental in securing Arsenal’s victory, scoring the second goal shortly after half-time. When questioned about whether he paid any attention to City’s win, the defender simply stated, “I don’t watch football so I was just focused on the game today and that was it.”

Despite being pursued by Manchester City, White appeared unfazed and stated that he does not feel any added pressure. As he has never been in this situation before, he is not sure what is right or wrong. He further stated that the team is just keeping their heads down and working hard.

‘There’s a lot of noise going on outside, and everyone is just keeping it very quiet and just getting on with what we are doing.

‘I don’t really know what’s right or wrong, I have never been in this position [competing in a title race] before. So we are just keeping quiet, heads down and working hard.’

Prior to the match, White’s place in the starting XI appeared to be in doubt when he was seen sprinting down the tunnel with the club doctor. However, the defender’s desire to be involved and help his teammates impressed Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta.
