According to Sport, Arsenal submitted a bid of £61.7 million for Raphinha during the January transfer window, but Barcelona rejected the offer for the winger
In a recent transfer update, it has been reported that Arsenal Football Club made a bold move for Brazilian winger Raphinha during the January transfer window.
According to reports , the club offered a staggering £61.7 million bid for the Leeds United star, but the proposal was ultimately rejected by Barcelona, who had acquired the player just a few months prior.
Despite the disappointment, Arsenal had a successful month of signings, bringing in Leandro Trossard, Jakub Kiwior, and Jorginho in their pursuit of Premier League glory. Trossard, in particular, has already proved to be a valuable addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
It comes as no surprise that Arsenal were keen to secure Raphinha’s signature, as the North London club had previously expressed interest in the 26-year-old while he was still plying his trade at Elland Road.
However, with the Brazilian settled at Barcelona and reportedly not for sale, it remains to be seen whether the Gunners will make another bid in the future.
