Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard is set to miss the early Euro qualifiers for the Belgium national team due to a minor injury that requires surgery.
The 28-year-old joined Arsenal during the January transfer window and had a strong start, providing numerous assists. While he has only scored one goal so far, he is determined to increase his goal tally following his first full season with the club.
Trossard is also excited about participating in the Champions League, as his previous European experiences were limited to the Europa League with Arsenal and Genk.
The news of his absence from the national team came last week when Belgium head coach Domenico Tedesco announced the squad for the early summer qualifiers.
It is expected that Trossard will recover in time to participate in later international fixtures. Belgium’s upcoming matches are scheduled to take place in Austria on June 17 and Estonia on June 20.
