In recent weeks, reports from Italy have emerged suggesting that Arsenal may be eyeing up a move for Atalanta’s promising young striker, Rasmus Højlund.

The 20-year-old Danish forward has been making waves in Serie A, having scored five goals in just two matches this month, further adding to his impressive debut season in Italy’s top flight.

According to sources such as Tutto Atalanta and CalcioMercato, Arsenal are one of a number of clubs interested in the young talent, alongside fellow Serie A sides AC Milan and Napoli. It’s believed that both Italian sides are looking at Højlund as a potential replacement for their respective strikers, Olivier Giroud and Victor Osimhen.

However, it seems that the Gunners may be the most eager of the bunch, with reports suggesting that they are “more than ready” to make a significant offer to Atalanta for the player. In fact, some sources claim that Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, could be willing to offer over €50m for Højlund’s services, which would be hard for Atalanta President Antonio Percassi to refuse.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will indeed make a move for the young striker, or whether Atalanta will be willing to part with one of their brightest prospects.
