Arsenal Football Club is open to considering offers for their promising young striker, Folarin Balogun, during the upcoming summer transfer window. According to the respected football journalist, Ben Jacobs, who shared this information in his exclusive CaughtOffside column, the Gunners have set an asking price in the region of £30-35 million for the highly sought-after 21-year-old.

Balogun’s impressive loan spell at Reims last season seems to have had a significant impact on Arsenal’s decision. The talented striker has evidently shown reluctance towards another loan move, indicating his desire for regular first-team football. Having showcased his potential with an impressive tally of 21 goals in Ligue 1, the young prodigy has undoubtedly caught the attention of several clubs.

Crystal Palace has emerged as a potential destination for Balogun, as mentioned by Jacobs. The South London club appears to be closely monitoring the situation, aiming to secure the services of the highly regarded striker this summer. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s own Eddie Nketiah could potentially stay at the Emirates Stadium due to having signed a new long-term contract only last year, further affecting Balogun’s prospects within the squad.

Ben Jacobs, shedding light on Arsenal’s plans for Balogun, said,

“There is a very real chance Folarin Balogun will be sold this summer. Arsenal’s long-standing strategy has always been to recall the American international forward from his loan spell at Reims, where he made a remarkable impact with 21 goals in Ligue 1. The club intends to assess his abilities during pre-season and make a well-informed decision accordingly.”

“But Balogun did so well at Reims – and won the CONCACAF Nations League with America, scoring in the final – that he now wants regular game time, and it’s hard to believe there wouldn’t be plenty of opportunities for him to get just that.

“Balogun is also not prepared to go out on loan again. This changes things, and means Arsenal may well end up selling. Arsenal would be looking for around £30-35m. Crystal Palace are one club to watch. Reims know they can’t sign Balogun again or get another loan.

“There is also plenty of speculation about Eddie Nketiah’s future. I actually think it far more likely he’ll stay at Arsenal this summer. He only signed a new long-term deal last year

It is worth noting that Balogun, in contrast to his preference for regular playing time, flourished during his stint in France, exhibiting exceptional goal-scoring prowess. Moreover, with his tender age of 21, the young striker still possesses significant potential for further development, making him an enticing prospect for potential suitors.
