Arsenal plans to keep defender William Saliba in the squad and offer him a new contract.
According to the source, head coach Mikel Arteta and the team’s technical director Edu consider the 21-year-old player the present and future of the gunners.
Saliba became an Arsenal player in the summer of 2019, but was immediately sent back on a one-year loan to Saint-Etienne. The defender played for Nice from January to June 2021 and spent last season at Marseille.
During the 2021/22 campaign, Saliba had no assists in 51 matches in all competitions.
