Arsenal Football Club has signaled its willingness to part ways with midfield dynamo Thomas Partey during the upcoming summer transfer window. The Gunners have granted the 30-year-old Ghanaian international permission to explore a potential move to the Saudi Pro League, as they seek to rejuvenate their squad and pave the way for promising young talents.

Partey played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s pursuit of the Premier League title this season, featuring prominently in 33 out of the team’s 38 league fixtures. His contributions did not go unnoticed, making it somewhat unexpected that Mikel Arteta is open to his departure, given the Ghanaian’s importance within the Spaniard’s tactical plans.

Reports from 90min, suggest that Arsenal is actively looking to inject fresh blood into their midfield and are keen on acquiring younger stars to replace the seasoned duo of Partey and Granit Xhaka. The Gunners’ management is eyeing potential reinforcements who possess both talent and potential, thus aligning with the club’s long-term vision.

It has emerged that clubs in Saudi Arabia have expressed a keen interest in securing the services of Thomas Partey. Furthermore, it is worth noting that Arsenal, as per the aforementioned report, would prefer a permanent transfer to the Middle East, rather than a loan move within Europe. This strategic decision would not only create immediate financial relief by freeing up substantial space on the wage bill but also holds the potential for the club to generate a profitable return on their initial investment. Arsenal had acquired Partey from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for a reported fee of £45 million.

According to trusted sources such as the Evening standard , Arsenal has already identified potential replacements for Partey in the midfield. The club’s attention has reportedly turned to Brighton & Hove Albion’s rising star, Moises Caicedo, who has been catching the eye with his performances. However, competition for the Ecuadorian’s signature is expected to be fierce, with Chelsea rumored to be in close pursuit.

Additionally, Arsenal is reportedly monitoring the contract situation of Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan. The German international, whose contract at the Etihad Stadium is nearing its end, has emerged as an intriguing option for the Gunners. Nevertheless, it remains uncertain whether Gundogan will extend his stay with the Premier League champions or explore opportunities in other leagues.
