Arsenal’s interest in Pedro Neto remains, but his increasing importance at Wolves will complicate any potential transfer this winter.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Pedro Neto continues, but the player’s increasing importance at Wolves presents a potential hurdle to any potential winter transfer.
The Gunners have held a keen interest in the 23-year-old for some time now. Since his arrival in the Premier League, Neto has left a significant impression on both Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, and their sporting director, Edu.
Neto’s stock is once again on the rise after an exceptional start to the season under Wolves’ manager, Gary O’Neil. As of now, he shares the top spot for most assists in the Premier League with Mohamed Salah, having registered four assists. Moreover, among all players, only Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has created more significant goal-scoring opportunities than the talented Portuguese starlet, with Neto having provided 18.
It’s worth noting that Pedro Neto committed to a long-term contract with Wolves in March 2022, which is set to run until the summer of 2027.
Arsenal, however, finds themselves in a somewhat precarious position due to recent injuries to Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, leaving them short-handed in attack. Additionally, Gabriel Jesus has yet to regain his pre-injury form from the World Cup last season. Given these circumstances, Arsenal might consider bolstering their forward line during the January transfer window.
