Arsenal are believed to be eyeing up Southampton’s central midfielder Romeo Lavia in a bid to bolster their midfield ahead of the summer transfer window. The young midfielder has caught the attention of several top-flight clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United.

Despite having one of the youngest squads in the Premier League, Arsenal’s midfield is dominated by older players, with Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka, and Mohamed Elneny all in their thirties. As a result, it is no surprise that technical director Edu is keen to bring in some younger talent at the end of the season.

West Ham United’s captain Declan Rice is understood to be the Gunners’ top priority this summer, according to reports from football.london. However, recent speculation suggests that Arsenal is looking to bring in two players in the middle of the park, with Lavia being a potential target.

The 19-year-old Lavia has been turning heads with his performances for the Saints’ youth teams and has recently been promoted to the senior squad. His impressive displays have not gone unnoticed, and he has attracted interest from some of the Premier League’s top clubs.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal’s interest in Lavia will materialize into a concrete offer. Still, the club’s desire to bring in younger players suggests that they are keen to build a team for the future, rather than relying on their aging midfielders.

The summer transfer window promises to be an exciting time for Arsenal fans, as they wait to see which new faces will arrive at the Emirates Stadium.
