Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to bolster the Gunners squad ahead of the upcoming season. As the transfer market heats up, Arsenal has reportedly identified a potential target in Europe who could help strengthen their midfield options.

The North London club recently signed Jorginho during the January transfer window, but they appear to be eager for more midfield reinforcements. Their target is the highly-rated Feyenoord midfielder, Orkun Kokcu, whom they have been monitoring for quite some time.

According to a recent report in The Sun, Arsenal is not alone in their pursuit of the 22-year-old Turkish midfielder. Leicester and Brighton have also shown interest in the player, but Arsenal has been keeping tabs on him since the 2019-2020 campaign.

Kokcu has been a standout performer for Feyenoord this season, with over 2,097 minutes of playtime under his belt. He has been an integral part of Feyenoord’s success, helping them secure the top spot in the Eredivisie with an eight-point lead. His performances have caught the attention of several top-flight clubs, but it seems Arsenal is at the front of the queue.

The young midfielder has elevated his game to a whole new level since Arsenal’s initial interest. With his impeccable ball control and creative ability, he would undoubtedly be a valuable addition to the Gunners’ midfield.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to secure Kokcu’s services, but their interest in him is a clear indication of Arteta’s intentions to take Arsenal back to the top.
