Arsenal is reportedly setting their sights on acquiring the highly sought-after Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, a player also on Liverpool’s radar. As per reliable sources, the Gunners are preparing to make a decisive move to secure the services of the talented young midfielder.

Football Insider  suggests that Arsenal is showing a keen interest in Lavia and are actively working towards securing his signature. This development comes amidst reports of Arsenal’s intention to bolster their midfield options for the upcoming season.

Further reports from Saudi Arabia, via the Daily Express, indicate that Arsenal’s Thomas Partey has supposedly reached an agreement to join a Premier League contingent in the Gulf state. While this news makes for an intriguing subplot, it does not detract from Arsenal’s interest in Lavia.

Despite already splurging a significant sum of £105 million to secure the services of West Ham United’s Declan Rice, Arsenal is seemingly determined to reinforce their midfield further. Their pursuit of Lavia, who primarily operates as a holding midfielder, underscores their ambition to assemble a formidable squad for the upcoming campaign.

Lavia, a promising 19-year-old talent, is widely expected to depart Southampton following their relegation to the Championship. With Saints manager Russell Martin acknowledging the likelihood of several players seeking top-flight returns, Lavia has emerged as a prized asset in the market. Southampton has reportedly set a price tag of around £50 million for the midfielder, signaling their intention to maximize the value of their young prospect.

Intriguingly, Liverpool has also been monitoring Lavia’s progress and is understood to have a vested interest in securing his services. Despite already making substantial acquisitions in the form of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool’s pursuit of Lavia illustrates their commitment to strengthening their midfield options further.
