Arsenal and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz, who has scored two goals and provided six assists in 13 appearances this season.
Interest in highly-rated midfielder Florian Wirtz is reportedly intensifying ahead of the summer transfer window, with Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United said to be among the suitors tracking the Bayer Leverkusen star.
According to 90Min, the 19-year-old has made 13 appearances this season, contributing two goals and six assists to his side’s cause. Wirtz, who has been lauded by teammate Karim Bellarabi as a “very special player”, is widely regarded as one of Germany’s brightest prospects, and his performances have not gone unnoticed by scouts from top European clubs.
It remains to be seen whether Leverkusen will be willing to part with their prized asset, but with interest in Wirtz continuing to mount, it seems likely that the Bundesliga outfit will face a battle to retain his services beyond the current campaign.
