Ander Herrera has reminisced on his time under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
Former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has lifted the lid on his time with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Mourinho met Herrera at Man United in 2016 after he replaced Louis van Gaal, who signed the Spaniard from Athletic Bilbao in 2015.
Herrera would go on to become one of Mourinho’s undroppables, thanks to the commitment and fighting spirit he brought into the middle of the pack.
The former Manchester United and PSG midfielder has hailed Jose Mourinho as one of the greatest managers of all time and revealed that the Portuguese boss found him a new playing role.
“He is one of the greatest managers of all time,” Herrera said when asked about his his experience playing under Mourinho.
“One of the most successful managers okf all time. He discovered a new position for me, he made me a more defensive midfielder…”
He added: “In the first season we won three trophies: the Community Shield, the Europa League and League Cup.
“And we qualified for the Champions League so it was a very successful season.”
