The Alpin team has made a statement saying they believe the announcement of the signing of Oscar Piastri is legally correct.
Team Alpin announced on August 2 that Oscar Piastri will be competing in its Formula One lineup for the 2023 season. A few hours later Piastri made his own statement on social media, noting that he did not sign any contracts with Alpin.
Publication Racer reached out to Alpin for comment on the situation and received a response.
We believe that our statement (regarding Piastri’s contract) is perfectly legal. We wouldn’t want to say anything beyond that, said an Alpine representative.
