Cuco Martina vs Arsenal
A 4-0 win over Arsenal on Boxing Day was undoubtedly one of Southampton’s finest performances last season, so it’s quite fitting that this outstanding strike from Cuco Martina came in that game.
Christian Benteke vs Manchester United
There wasn’t much for Benteke to shout about during his first season at Liverpool, however, the 32.5 million pound signing did manage a few notable contributions – none more so than this stunning overhead kick against Manchester United.
Riyad Mahrez vs Chelsea
Leicester’s £500,000 signing was arguably the league’s best player last season and, having scored 17 goals, he tormented defenses all season long. One of his most impressive contributions was this fine goal against Chelsea.
Harry Kane vs Arsenal
The man who leads the line for Spurs was dubbed a ‘one season wonder’ by many after the 14/15 season, but any doubts were dispelled as Kane went on to become the league’s top scorer in 15/16 with 25 goals. The pick of the bunch coming in the North London Derby.
Philippe Coutinho vs Stoke City
It was another fairly low-key season for Liverpool, but once again their miniature maestro Philippe Coutinho was regularly on hand to provide some class, with this goal in the dying moments against Stoke a fine example of that.
Matt Richie vs Bournemouth
It was a good first season in the Premier League for Bournemouth, who held many impressive performers in their ranks. Matt Richie was perhaps their most consistent player throughout the campaign and his volley against Sunderland will live long in the memory.
Jamie Vardy vs Liverpool
It wasn’t just Leicester on the whole who made history last season, Jamie Vardy, becoming the only player to score in 11 consecutive Premier League games, also wrote his name into the history books. Of his 24 league goals, in what was an astonishing season for the forward, this sumptuous strike against Liverpool was the most memorable.
Daniel Sturridge vs Aston Villa
It was another season blighted by injury for the Liverpool striker, who when he plays generally scores. Although most of Liverpool’s exploits on the pitch last season were viewed from the stands by Sturridge, he did manage a few appearances and unsurprisingly chipped in with a few goals. This neatly worked goal against Aston Villa was just one example of what Liverpool are missing when the forward is sidelined by injury.
Dele Alli v Crystal Palace
Unless you were an avid follower of League One or an MK Dons supporter you probably wouldn’t of known who Dele Alli was a year ago. Fast-forward 12 months and you’d probably struggle to find a football fan who isn’t aware of the 20 year-old’s talent. Scoring 10 goals in his debut season, Dele Alli announced himself at the top level in style. His goal against Crystal Palace was arguably the best goal of the entire Premier League campaign.
Dimitri Payet vs Crystal Palace
There’s no two ways about it, Dimitri Payet was one of the signings of the season. Using a combination of pace, trickery and shooting ability, the attacking midfielder ran defenses ragged throughout the year. However, it’s the prolific nature in which he scored from free-kicks that will define the 2015/2016 campaign for the Frenchman. This stunner against Crystal Palace serves as fine example of the 29 year-old’s dead-ball ability.
