Yvan-Mendy-vs-Denis-BerinchykBookmaker Ratings: Prediction #1 –

Fight ResultDenys Berinchyk to win by decision

The Frenchman shortens the distance behind a high and very solid block, often landing low. Not a bad jab (as for this kind of fighter), unpredictable in his attacks (instead of jab he can launch an attack with a right straight or even left hook on the bounce). Against such a guy you really need body kicks (there should be no problem with the high block), and it is highly discouraged to give up the initiative.

It is logical to assume that the winner will be the one who manages to take away the center of the ring. One of the most important points is the physical preparation for the fight.

Preliminary review and match prediction for Yvan Mendy vs Denys Berinchyk

Yvan Mendy: The Lion

The French boxer of Senegalese origin has been competing in the profiling since 2006. Mendy has been on the open journeymen for a long time, but at this stage of his career was not very confident: he faced three times his compatriot Abdoulaye Sukuna, but could not defeat him – two defeats and one draw. In 2010 Mendy started to fight for the regional titles. And in 2012 he fought outside France for the first time, losing to Viktor “The Iceman” Postol from Ukraine. Mendy owned prestigious WBC Silver and WBA Gold belts, but never got the title shot. In 2015, Mendy tried to take the EBU European champion belt but lost to Edis “Prince” Tatli of Finland. The same year the Frenchman’s most iconic victory, over the Olympic champion British Luke “Cool Hand” Campbell, is dated, and with it the WBC International title (though he lost in the rematch). This spring he beat Italian Gianluca Ceglia and became the holder of the vacant EBU European title at the second attempt.

Denys Berinchyk:

Berinchik is a titled amateur, winner of the Olympic Games and World Championships. He was a semi-pro in the WSB semi-pro league before moving on to the pros. He holds the WBO International title since 2018 and has made six successful defenses. His most notable win was over former contender Isa Chaniev of Russia. Had one fight under fist-fighting rules – Russian Artem “The Russian Hammer” Lobov was eliminated. Stylistically, Mendy is a bit like Berinchyk, he’s a short, aggressor who prefers a forceful confrontation.
