These two sides are expected to finish around midtable and, whilst West Brom are currently living up to that target, West Ham still have ground to make up.

After winning their first two league matches of the season, West Brom have taken just one point from a possible six in their last two outings. However, there is no real cause for concern as they will undoubtedly survive this year.

Tony Pulis’ side’s reputation for keeping clean sheets has been shot to pieces recently with none in their last three games and five goals conceded in that time. Unfortunately, the habit that they have kept up is their inability to find the back of the net on a regular basis. The Baggies have failed to score over 1.5 goals in any of their Premier League outings this term.

A huge positive for Albion going into this match is their home form. They have turned The Hawthorns into a fortress in recent years and that has continued to be the case this season with no defeats on home soil so far and just one goal conceded.

West Ham managed to partially recover from their early season mess by winning against in form Huddersfield Town on Monday night – boosting them off the bottom of the table. However, they now need to keep that momentum going to ensure they stay out of the bottom three.

The defence has been the main problem for the Hammers so far this term and their record of 10 goals conceded is the worst in the division. However, there is a bit more hope in that department now having kept a clean sheet in that Huddersfield match on Monday. On the other side of the coin though, West Ham are a threat going forward, as demonstrated by the fact they have scored six goals in five competitive outings so far this campaign.

Much was made of West Ham’s inability to adapt to their new home of the London Stadium last season, however, away form has arguably been a bigger problem for Slaven Bilic’s side. The Hammers have recorded just one away Premier League win since 4th February.

Although West Ham will be boosted by that win on Monday night, I expect West Brom to recover from their little blip this weekend. The Baggies are so strong on their own patch and I expect them to do a job on West Ham. West Bromwich Albion to Win is priced at a generous 11/8.
