A win for Chelsea here will seal the Premier League title, however, although they have little to play for, going to West Brom is a tough task for any side.

West Brom achieved safety a long time ago and perhaps should have pushed on to better things this season. Instead, they have firmly had the flip-flops on and have subsequently taken just two points from a possible 18 in their last six.

Until recently, Tony Pulis’s men had been very solid at the back and even now their record of just 45 goals conceded in 35 games is pretty impressive. However, as you can imagine, they have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five. Furthermore, Albion’s need for a striker in the summer has been painfully obvious in recent times and, prior to scoring twice against Burnley at the weekend, West Brom had failed to find the back of the net in their previous five.

Although they have been on a bad run recently, the Baggies’ home form has been their staple this campaign with 29 points taken from 18 matches – only two fewer than Manchester United. Although we talk about West Brom’s solidity at the back, it is worth noting that they have kept just four home clean sheets this season and not one of them in their last six games. Having said that, their record of 27 scored betters Manchester United.

Chelsea secured a simple 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough on Friday night which now means that three points at the Hawthorns on Friday night will seal the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first season as manager.

Last Friday’s victory against Boro epitomised Chelsea this season in that they were incredibly solid at the back to record their 15th clean sheet of the season whilst they were also rampant going forward and scored at least three goals for the fourth consecutive match in all competitions.

As you would expect from a side about to win the title, the Blues have been brilliant on their travels and have won five of their last six away from Stamford Bridge. Additionally, their away points tally of 39 from 18 games is the best in the Premier League whilst their away clean sheet ratio of 39% is the second-best in the division.

I am expecting Chelsea to come out on top here and they really should be securing the title against a West Brom side who are struggling for motivation at the moment. ‘Chelsea to Win to Nil’, at 23/20, wouldn’t be the worst bet; however, instead ‘2-3 Total Goals’ looks the better option. This of course is the same prediction I made for Chelsea’s match against Middlesbrough, which won, and I am expecting a similar outcome here. West Brom will most likely look to defend before trying rare counter attacks and so Chelsea may find it hard to break them down at regular intervals. Having said that, given Chelsea’s attacking form recently, they should find the back of the net a couple of times.
