Washington Wizards need to improve their defense to win
The Wizards have struggled against the 76ers in all three matches of this series, as Philadelphia’s size advantage has been key in deciding the outcome of the first three matches. Coach Scot Brooks’ team couldn’t keep their opponents from scoring under 120 points in each of the three matches as the Wizards’ defense couldn’t find the answers to the 76ers’ attacking power.
In game three, Russel Westbrook had another triple double but the contribution from his teammates was not enough to keep up with their opponents. The Wizards made just eight of their 35 shots from the arc, in return allowing Philadelphia to score 17 threes. Washington are struggling from long distance as they made just two three-pointers in game two.
Philadelphia 76ers looking for a clean sweep
The 76ers are one win away from winning their series in the playoff first round against the Washington Wizards. Joel Embid was unstoppable in game three with a game-high 36 points including three shots from the arc. 31 assists in the game shows how coach Doc Rivers’ team rotates the ball to use the open man for a clear shot.
Tobias Harris also had a very good game three scoring 20 points and collecting 13 rebounds. The 28-year-old power forward is having his best playoff series in his career as he has flourished under coach Rivers’ guidance. Shooting 51% from the arc and dominating under the paint with 51 rebounds, the 76ers are up for a clean sweep of this series.
Key Points
- Philadelphia is averaging 125.7 points per game in the playoffs
- Washington is averaging 105 points per game in the playoffs
- The 76ers are on a five-game winning streak
- The Wizards lost four of their last five matches
Washington Wizards vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction
The Wizards could stay in contact with their opponents in game one losing by seven points, in the next two games though, the difference between the two teams was considerably obvious as the 76ers won by comfortable margins, 25 and 29 points.
Doc Rivers’ 76ers haven’t lost to the Wizards in eight straight games and we think they will make it nine in game four as the Wizards don’t seem to have the defensive capabilities to stop Joel Embid and Tobias Harris. Russel Westbrook is doing all his best but is not getting enough help from his teammates.
We think it will be another win for the 76ers as they look very focused and solid and have advantages over the Wizards in every department.
