03:00, May 27 2021
Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies prediction for Thursday’s game two of the NBA Western Conference round one playoff. Utah Jazz with the best win/loss record in the NBA regular season host Memphis Grizzlies after losing game one. Read on for our free prediction and betting tips.

Utah Jazz in a shock game one defeat

In the most surprising result of the playoffs so far, the Utah Jazz lost the first game of the series at home to the Grizzlies. Utah have now lost three of their last five games and coach Quin Snyder has to find quick solutions to his team’s deterioration of form. The Jazz had won the previous three meetings of this season against their visitors but were outclassed when it mattered the most.

The downfall for coach Snyder’s team was the amount of missed attempts from the three-point range. Despite scoring 12 shots from the arc, the Jazz players needed 47 attempts averaging just 25.5% in the game. Bogdanovic made four from 11 shots as he was his team’s top scorer with 29 points. Hopefully for coach Snyder All-star Donovan Mitchell will be back for game 2.

Memphis Grizzlies booming with confidence

After eliminating Stephen Curry and the Warriors in the Play-In tournament, the Grizzlies continued their remarkable performances and beat the number one ranked team in the NBA the Utah Jazz. Memphis looked very hungry for the win as they defended hard under the paint and gave the jazz players the space to shoot from distance and it paid off.

Dillon Brooks scored 31 points in a Grizzlies record for the most points scored by a player on his playoff debut. The 25-year-old added seven rebounds and two three-pointers to lead the game scorers. Jo Morant had 26 points and with the form the Grizzlies are in at the moment, their confidence will be sky-high going into game two.

Key Stats

  • Utah have an average of 116 points per game
  • Memphis have an average of 113 points per game
  • Utah have an average of 38.9% from the arc
  • Memphis have an average of 46.7% field goal percentage

Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies Prediction

Utah made the headlines for all the wrong reasons as the number one seeded team in the NBA suffered a defeat in their opening game of the 2020/21 playoffs. Donovan Mitchel was thoroughly missed by coach Snyder and he hopes his guard will be back for game two

Memphis on the other hand, have improved from game to game as they have now won three very crucial games in a row. Coach Taylor Jenkins has many variations at his disposal and if they perform as they did in the last three matches, Memphis will be a tough opponent in the coming matches.

Despite the loss, Utah’s numbers were acceptable and a few adjustments in offense and making more three-point shots can make a huge difference in game two.

We predict a Jazz win and a high-scoring game.
