UK snooker championship: day 8. Vladimir Sinitsin’s prediction
I felt heavy hearted yesterday when two of my bets didn’t come through. And there pretty much was no hope for my third bet to win because Poomjaeng had all but lost. But he has since made a remarkable comeback from 0:5 to 6:5. This tournament has been full of suprises. Only six Top16 players have made it to the final 16. And there will soon be two matches with players from the TOP 16 playing against each other. Judd Trump has scuppered a lot of bets as he was included in lots of accumulators with the odd to win 1.25. His win was also taken with a handicap by many. It’s not a coincidence that a lot of bookmakers want to sponsor snooker tournaments. They can be sure tthey will profit with unpredictable eventslike the ones we are witnessing. But we will try to outfox the bookmakers.
There will be only four games on Wednesday and three of them have absolute favorites. After Mark Selby bested Jones, he had some time to analyze why he struggled to do so. His rival, Dechawat Poomjaeng made an unbelievable comeback last night, so the Thai will should find himself very upbeat. But will it be enough to win against Selby?
Peter Ebdon is playing incredibly well in the tournament. Now he will face off against David Grace, the competitor with the lowest rating (81st). I think that Ebdon will win comfortably. Shaun Murphy is also very unswerving, playing brilliantly. Marco Fu is a strong rival, but in his last game he managed just two breaks of 50 points. There are Many reasons to lean towards a Murphy win.
These predictions can be picked up in the accumulator. But what if some of the favorites fall short? May be we should make an accumulators with just two games with a handicap. I don’t have solid prediction for the fourth game, so I’ll try to combine my thoughts on the other three.
And one more thing: now we should see a calm after the storm. Some unpredictable results have surfaced, so now there’s no time for surprises.
