Two sides looking to take the Premier League title come head-to-head at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night in a fixture which got very feisty towards the end of last season.

Spurs currently sit fifth in the table, ahead of sixth on goal difference and a huge 10 points behind league leaders and Wednesday’s opponents Chelsea. Even at this early stage, it looks like that gap will be too big to close.

Tottenham had been criticised for relying too much on their solid defence in the early part of the season as they went on an exceptional run which saw them go undefeated until 26th November when they lost away at Chelsea. However, they have certainly turned on the style more recently having scored eight in their last two matches. Perhaps that defensive reliability has gone a bit, as shown by the fact they have not kept a clean sheet in their previous three, but they are scoring more than enough goals to compensate.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team are still yet to lose a match at home this season and are currently on a four-match winning streak with 13 goals scored and just two conceded. If anybody can stop Chelsea’s incredibly winning run, it’s probably Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Chelsea’s 4-2 victory over Stoke City on Saturday equaled the top-flight record of 13 consecutive wins in a single season. It did look like The Potters were coming to spoil the party when they managed to equalise, but the Blues scored another two to run out comfortable winners in the end.

As mentioned on previous Chelsea tips, Antonio Conte has managed to create the perfect mixture of solid defence and potent attack which sees his side as virtual title holders already.

Of course being on such a fabulous run means that they are good on the road as well as at home. Away from Stamford Bridge, the Blues have won their last six games and conceded just one goal. However, as previously mentioned, if there’s any upcoming fixture that will see Chelsea’s run end, it’s probably Tottenham away.

With this likely to be a tight game, ‘Under 2.5 Goals’, at 20/21, is a good bet. Neither side will want to give anything away that’s for sure, while Chelsea’s tactic is likely to be one of keeping things tight at the back and hitting their opponents on the break. Additionally, ‘Over 65 Booking Points’, at 6/4, is a solid secondary bet. We saw this fixture get very fiery at the end of last season and there is clearly no love lost between the two sides. Even at this stage of the season, there’s plenty at stake here and fireworks are expected – plenty of bookings are in store here.
