Tottenham battling for a European spot
Spurs were considered as title contenders at one stage during the 2020/21 Premier League season. The Londoners had some problems and sacked Jose Mourinho after some results didn’t go their way and have almost lost a chance to play in the Champions League next season.
With three matches still to be played, Tottenham are eight points behind fourth-placed Chelsea who has played one game more than Spurs. Tottenham need to win all their remaining games and hope the other results go their way. They have picked up seven points in their last five matches and have suffered in matches after the 75th minute where they conceded 12 goals in that period.
Wolves feel they deserve a top-half finish
Wolves are chasing a top-half finish as they have picked up ten points less than last season at this stage. Wolves had finished seventh in the 2019/20 campaign and played in the Europa League. They won’t make it to the European competition next year but Nuo Espirito feels his team deserves to finish in the top ten and they will fight for it.
Wolves showed their hunger to win in their last match as they came from behind to beat Brighton in the last minute of the game. Only Manchester United have recovered more points from losing positions than Wolves who have gathered 51 points since their return to the Premier League. Wolves have started slowly in their away matches as they have scored before halftime in just two games on the road.
Key Stats
- Tottenham haven’t beaten Wolves at home in over a decade
- Tottenham had six corners in each of their last two matches
- Wolves had over six corners in each of their last two matches
- Both teams have not scored in 53% of Tottenham’s home games
- Both teams have not scored in 59% of Wolves’ away games
Tottenham vs Wolves Prediction
Tottenham will do their best to win this game to stay in contention for a top-four finish. They have won just two of their last six games but will have to attack from the beginning to secure all points. Spurs have been in good scoring form netting seven goals in three matches.
Wolves may find it hard to score against Tottenham as Espirito’s team have scored just three goals in their last three matches and against weaker opposition.
For our first prediction, we will back both teams to have 1 corner in each half. It is a big probability considering the number of corners they had recently and the odds are very high.
For our secondary prediction, we think both teams will not score in this match.
