Tottenham Hotspur vs Leeds United key stats

  • Tottenham have had no shots on target in their last two Premier League matches.
  • Both teams have struggled in front of goal this season, Spurs (nine goals), Leeds (11 goals).
  • Raphinha has been first goalscorer in the last two league matches and has five goals so far this season.
  • Harry Kane has scored no goals in his last four Premier League games.

Conte to the rescue

New Head Coach, Antonio Conte had only one match in charge prior to the international break which was a dull 0-0 draw away to Everton, which saw Spurs fail to achieve a shot on target.

The hope now is that Harry Kane, scorer of seven goals during the international break – albeit against poor opposition – can translate that form into Premier League goals.

In much the same way as last season, Leeds do tend to ship goals, especially away from home so this may be the game that gets Kane and Spurs on a run.

Inconsistent rather than consistently poor

Leeds finds themselves in 15th place, just three points away from the drop zone, however they’ve drawn five of their 11 matches so far.

While Leeds haven’t been able to string two wins together, they’ve also never lost or drawn two in a row, making predicting Leeds’ results – and betting on them – almost impossible.

Goals have been hard to come by for Leeds which is to be expected as Patrick Bamford has been absent due to injury since mid-September. However, winger, Raphinha’s efforts are to be commended.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Leeds United predictions

Both sides have found scoring goals hard to come by, Spurs have just four home goals and Leeds have just five away goals. Though Kane has found his shooting boots on England duty, the upheaval and disruption around him since the end of the summer, and now yet another new manager, may see him take more time to find form at club level again.

As well as this with Leeds’ main marksman Bamford still missing, we can’t see too many goals in this one and predict under 2.5 goals will come in.

Raphinha has taken up the mantle since Bamford succumbed to injury, scoring in his last two. He is long odds to score first and with nearly half of Leeds’ goals coming from him, 4/1 for Raphinha to score first or last – giving you two bites at the cherry – seems too hard to pass up.
