Serie A closes it’s doors for the summer on Sunday evening, but there is still one more round of fixtures to get stuck into and hopefully a few more pennies to be made. One of the final day fixtures that catches they eye as a potential money-maker is the match taking place in Turin between Torino and Sassuolo.

Neither of this pair have had much to play for during the last few weeks as, over the course of the campaign, they’ve done more than enough to stay in the division but not quite enough to challenge for Europe. However, the drop in pressure has effected the two sides in different ways. Torino have taken their foot right off the gas and are simply waiting for the season to finish, whereas, in contrast, Sassuolo have been thriving of late and come into this fixture unbeaten in seven.

With Torino seemingly sleeping in recent weeks, this looks to be a good opportunity for the visitors to finish the season on a high. Scoring goals has been part and parcel of the game for the visitors in recent weeks and they’re fancied to continue in the same vein here against a Torino team who’ve shipped seven goals in their last two matches. On this basis, ‘Sassuolo to Score Over 1.5 Goals’ is the first bet that stands out.

As touched on above, Sassuolo have been in fine scoring form of late, whereas Torino have simply woeful at the back. The visitors approach this fixture having scored an impressive 15 goals in their last five matches, notching at least twice in all five of those. In contrast, Torino have conceded ten in their last five, scored just four and have kept zero clean sheets during that time. The manner in which they capitulated in their last home match against Napoli was pretty embarrassing, while their efforts during a 2-1 loss away to struggling Genoa last time out weren’t much better.

During the season, Torino have been pretty useful going forward, but defending certainly hasn’t been their thing. Having conceded a total of 65, they’ve conceded the fourth-highest tally in the entire division. What’s more, the hosts have conceded on average Serie A’s sixth-highest number of shots on target per home game. It really isn’t hard to envisage a Sassuolo side who’ve been enjoying their end of season matches coming here and breaching what is a weak rearguard more than once.

An additional bet ahead of this fixture is ‘Pietro Iemmello to Score Anytime’. The 25-year-old Italian hasn’t exactly played much this season, in fact he’s barely played at all; however, since coming into the side a few weeks ago, the striker has thrived, scoring in each of Sassuolo’s last three matches. Four goals in his last three, one of which was an appearance off the bench, is pretty impressive and it appears as though the forward is finally getting the chance to prove his worth. Having scored three goals in three starts, and five overall, the number 9 is averaging a goal every 97.8 minutes. Considering both his and his team’s form of late, if he gets the nod on Sunday, and there’s no reason he shouldn’t, Iemmello is well worth backing to find the net at 9/4.
