Terek Grozny v Amkar Perm Betting Tips
These two sides have been the surprise packages of the Russian Premier League this season sitting in fourth and fifth position respectively. If they carry on their good form there is no reason why they cannot have an outside chance of fighting for the European spots. Whether they can keep up this consistency though is another thing.
On the face of it, Terek have had an odd season so far. Rashid Rakhimov’s side are usually incredibly solid and do not concede many goals yet their goals against record reads 11. However, when you look closer you see that seven of those goals came in two matches – heavy defeats to Krasnodar and CSKA Moscow. Other than those two results they have been there ever-consistent selves.
Having said that, they are usually very good at home but this season they have just won the one game – although it must be said that the other matches were against Lokomotiv Moscow and Rostov so draws in these matches are perfectly acceptable.
Amkar are certainly a bigger surprise than Terek given their 11th placed finish last season. Gadzhi Gadzhiyev’s team have lost only one match this season and even that was away at Zenit so can be forgiven. Impressively, this match was the only one this season where they have conceded, other than that they have recorded a clean sheet in every match.
Amkar have always had a reputation of being defensively solid but being poor up front. This season, however, they have managed to stumble across the perfect formula – remaining good at the back whilst being clinical, allowing them to pick up maximum points from games instead of just the one.
You now get the feeling that if Amkar score then they will win.
The only problem for them, particularly with this game, is that they still have not scored away from home this season and so I would back Terek here.
You can go for the straight Terek win at 21/20, which is a decent bet, but there are others worth looking at too. I cannot imagine Amkar breaking their away scoring duck at the Akhmat-Arena and would thus go for Terek to win without conceding at 19/10.
I would actually go even further than that and advise punters to place something on ‘Terek to Win 1-0’ at 19/4. It will be a very close game and quite a defensive one, but Terek specialise in these type of matches and can snake a single goal victory.
If you are unsure which way this match will swing then ‘Under 1.5 Goals’ at 6/4 looks a great bet. Both teams are solid at the back and goal scoring chances are likely to be in very short supply here.
