Having won 1-0 in the reverse fixture earlier on in the campaign, Everton travel to take on Stoke City at The Bet365 on Wednesday night in a match that promises to be one of the most interesting of this set of fixtures.

Both of these two teams are going well at the moment. Stoke have won two of their last three and Everton have won four of their last five. When teams are in form such as this it’s often difficult to predict the outcome; however, in this particular instance, goals are what appeal most.

With Arnautovic, Shaqiri and Crouch all looking good going forward right now, Stoke certainly carry a significant forward-threat, whilst the visitors look in far better shape than they did a few weeks ago with their new formation of three at the back – a change which has seen them focus their attacks down the flanks to good effect.

Stoke might be going well in front of goal lately (four goals in their last two matches) but their defence looks rather vulnerable having kept just one clean sheet in their last five so I imagine Everton should enjoy some attacking success here.

Everton’s Romelu Lukaku has scored three in his last four matches and it would be no surprise if the Belgian striker was capable of seriously testing this rather wobbly Stoke back-line.

As mentioned above, Stoke are looking both good going forward, but not so good at the back right now. Their recent record which has seen both teams score in five of their last six Premier League matches shows this. With Everton in good attacking form also, we can expect such a run to continue here.
