Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Daniil Medvedev: Prediction and Betting Tips
Stefanos Tsitsipas looking in great form to have a great tournament
Stefanos Tsitsipas is on an eight-match winning streak dating back to the tournament in Lyon two weeks ago where he won the title. Tsitsipas has lost just one set in four matches so far in Roland Garros. The Greek player wasn’t seriously troubled in his matches except when he lost his only set to John Isner where he couldn’t cope with Isner’s first serve in the first set.
Tsitsipas has shown some very impressive tennis in the past week in Paris and he has even improved in many ways especially on important points. The world number 5 looks very focused and fired up to go far in this tournament and maybe even have a go to win his first Grand Slam of his career after reaching the semi-finals in 2020.
Daniil Medvedev hoping to impose himself as a serious contender
Medvedev had lost some of the incredible form that he was in from October last year to the Australian Open final. But with the start of the clay season, Medvedev couldn’t impose himself as he did on hard courts and won just two matches in six. With the start of the French Open, the Russian looks very aggressive and lost just one set in four matches.
The only slight scare he had so far was in his game against American Tommy Paul. After losing the first set, Medvedev regrouped and won 10/10 of the points behind his first serve in the second set and went on to win the match in four sets. Medvedev is also looking for his first Grand Slam and he has to pass this serious test to prove he is ready to win at Roland Garros.
- Medvedev is leading the H2H meetings 6-1
- Tsistipas has played on average 31.75 games per match in the French Open
- Medvedev has played on average 20 games per match in the French Open
- Tsitsipas is hitting 47.8 winners per game
- Medvedev has hit 36.5 winners per game
Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction
Despite being behind in the H2H matches, Tsistsipas is the favorite to win this match with the bookmakers. This is due to the incredible current form that the Greek is in. He looks very confident and dominant in his matches and that has reflected in his results.
Medvedev has to decrease his unforced errors as much as possible. In his match against Tommy Paul, he had 32 unforced errors which is a very high number. He also needs to have a very high 1st serve percentage as Tsitsipas is one of the best returners in the game.
We think both players are playing close to their best form although Medvedev is marginally less in that area, we think it will be a close game and will see more than three sets.
