Having walked all over a hopeless Granada side on Monday night (4-0), little Eibar continue to go well in La Liga and should be coming into this fixture high on confidence. Despite Sevilla being a tough opponent for anyone to face, especially at home, it’ll take a brave punter to dismiss Eibar in their current form.

The story of Eibar in recent years is exactly what everyone loves about football. Despite being a small club from a small city (population of just over 27,000 inhabitants), Eibar continue to punch above their weight on one of La Liga’s smallest budgets. The Basque side, as they currently sit just a single point outside of the European places in 7th position, are quite literally proving that money doesn’t necessarily buy success.

From a betting point of view, although a trip to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán isn’t to be taken lightly, it’s very hard not to feel that Eibar are well and truly overpriced here. The visitors are in fine form right now and are no strangers when it comes to inconveniencing the bigger clubs. With this in mind, both ‘Eibar Draw No Bet’ and ‘Eibar to Score Over 1.5 Goals’, at 4/1 and 11/ 4 respectively, catch the eye.

José Luis Mendilibar’s side are thriving at the moment and there ought to be plenty of confidence bouncing around the Eibar dressing room as they come here after back-to-back 4-0 wins. Aside from their demolition of both Valencia and Granada, the visitors have lost just two of their last ten leagues matches. In addition, Mendilibar’s men have won four of their last five, scoring 14 goals in the process.

Considering we’re talking about an Eibar side who’ve scored 14 goals in five games, scoring at least twice in four of those, the 11/4 quoted about them finding the back of the Sevilla net twice is surely an overestimation. Of course, Sevilla are no mugs, but they are susceptible to being caught on the counter (as Espanyol proved recently) and the visitors aren’t the sort of team to let them off the hook should chances to pounce arise.

Sevilla are a side who’ve been doing well of late, but they continue to concede a few more goals than Sampaoli would probably like and it’s highly unlikely that they’ll be given an easy ride defensively in this one. The hosts have kept just one clean sheet in their last five at home and have conceded seven goals in their last five overall. The way in which the hosts will look to dictate the game may just play straight into the hands of an Eibar team who’re well suited to playing on the counter, although that’s not to say the visitors can’t get the ball down and mix it in that sense too.

Another interesting pointer here is the fact that Sevilla have just three days in between this match and their Champions League showdown with Leicester. Keeping this in mind, it would be no surprise if the hosts have one eye on that fixture and, therefore, Sampaoli may well choose to rest some key players. If Sevilla aren’t quite up for this one, then Eibar are just the sort of team to make them pay.

All things considered, Eibar’s play has been turning plenty of heads recently and they just look far too big in the betting. There’s plenty to like about the visitors and it’s fancied that they might just land a couple of nice-priced selections here.
