Rotherham v Huddersfield Betting Tips: Visitors to keep Rotherham’s poor run going
The Championship hosts yet another Yorkshire derby this week as League One-bound Rotherham United host play-off chasers Huddersfield United.
Rotherham have had an absolutely terrible season and are firmly rooted to the foot of the table with just 17 points to their name – 14 from safety. They have failed to record back to back positive results (including draws) since 14th September.
As you would expect from a team at the bottom of the league, the Millers have been terrible both at the back and up front with 65 goals conceded (the worst in the league) and just 28 scored (the second-worst). They have kept just two clean sheets all season and there really are no positives for Rotherham at the moment.
Paul Warne’s team have picked up all but one of their 17 points this season at home but this is clearly still not enough. You really fear for them going into this match against an in-form Huddersfield side.
Huddersfield are top of the form table in the Championship right now with 19 points taken from just eight games. They are still 3rd in the league and a rather large six points off the automatic promotion spots, however, with five straight wins in all competitions, they are peaking at the right time if they want to challenge the top two.
Given that they have not kept a clean sheet in their last three matches and are one of the more attacking sides in the Championship, it is interesting to note that the Terriers the sixth best defence in the league with just 33 goals conceded.
Offensively, although they have found their shooting boots recently, their record of 39 scored is the second-worst in the top six.
David Wagner’s side have been superb away from home recently with just one defeat in their last seven matches on the road in all competitions.
There can really only be one result here given the sensational run Huddersfield are on right now and, with the quality in their ranks, should score a few against this ropey Rotherham back-line. With this in mind, ‘Huddersfield Town to Win and Over 2.5 Goals’, at 6/4, looks a good bet. 16 of Rotherham’s defeats this season have seen at least three goals go in.
