This Championship clash sees two teams at opposite ends of the table come together as bottom of the table Rotherham United host Brighton & Hove Albion.

Rotherham are not mathematically relegated yet but it is certainly a case of when rather than if. After taking just one point from a possible 27 in their last nine matches, they are 18 points away from safety. The Millers have not even reached that total in their 35 games so far.

As you would expect from the team bottom of the table, Paul Warne’s men have been a shambles in both boxes with just 32 scored and an incredible 79 conceded in 35 matches. Furthermore, they have kept just two clean sheets in the Championship all season.

Although all but one of their points have been earned at home,  their record of just 16 points in 17 matches is still atrocious. They are also without a clean sheet at the New York Stadium in their last eight matches in all competitions.

Brighton still find themselves second in the table thanks to a cushion they built up earlier in the season. However, that gap between them and 3rd spot Huddersfield Town is now down to just six points. The Seagulls have only taken 11 points from their last eight and, with Huddersfield on a great run, Brighton really need to be careful.

Chris Hughton’s men pride themselves on a solid back-line and it is no coincidence that they are top of the clean sheet charts in the Championship with 17 in 35 matches (49%). Additionally, only top of the table Newcastle United have a better ‘Goals Against’ record than the Seagulls.

The Seagulls may have the second-best away record in the division but actually, they have been pretty poor on their travels recently with just four points taken from a possible 15 in their last five matches away from the AMEX Stadium.

Even though Brighton are struggling a bit at the moment, they should really be winning this match against Rotherham to put themselves back on track. As previously mentioned, Brighton are very good at the back and I cannot see Rotherham providing much of a threat against them, even at the New York Stadium. Against the worst team in the division, ‘Brighton to Win to Nil’ is worth being on at 5/4.
