Real Madrid – Villarreal. Konstantin Genich’s prediction
It’s a game between the two teams sat third and fourth in La Liga. The point gap between them is huge, but still it’s a great rivalry. The last match between these two ended with a Villarreal win. But now the Yellow Submarine have less motivation to play: they are unlikely to lose the Champions League spot and have no chance of moving further up the table. They also have the small matter of the Europa League semi-finals to consider. This is probably why they lost their last game in La Liga to Rayo Vallecano.
Barcelona have lost some points in recent games, so Real Madrid are back in the title race. Zidane’s team have no right to lose points and we know that they are extremely good at home. That’s why I’m backing Real Madrid to win and over 3.5 goals here. Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale are in good form, so a scoreline of see 3:1, 4-1, 4:2 wouldn’t be much of a surprise. Villarreal are good on the counter and will surely threaten at times, while Madrid are capable of scoring for fun at home.
