Firstly, it is worth noting that the first round of fixtures in the Spanish championship were all exciting and 40 goals were scored in ten games. This is one of the two best results since 1955 and I propose that this performance level will not be reduced.

The first match in front of their fans in the championship is always a special match for Real Madrid. Real tend to score a lot in their first league match of the season at the Bernabeau. For example, in last season’s match against Betis, they won 5-0.

Despite the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo will not play and Karim Benzema is also unlikely to feature, it seems to me that Real Madrid have a great chance of scoring several goals. Madrid’s attacking line-up should prove too much for their opponents here, especially in front of their home fans.

Zidane’s Real side tend to get the job done in the first half which then allows substitutes such as James Rodriguez and Isco to come on and have enough time to convince the manager that they should be in the team which results in Real scoring even more goals.

Gareth Bale is in very good shape, as proved by his brace against Real Sociedad, whilst Marco Asensio has worked wonders in all of his matches for the club so far

With this in mind I think that the chances of an abundance of goals is here large enough. This exact fixture last season finished 7-1 to the home side and Real have scored at least three goals in their last four matches against Celta at the Bernabeu.

Additionally, when Celta concede the first goal, they will be forced to attack a bit more which will result in them being more open which in turn will lead to more goals.

The team from Vigo need to make sure they have recovered from their failure in the first round. In a match which shocked and angered their fans, Celta managed to lose at home to minnows Leganés.

A ridiculous result that, in my opinion, was largely down to striker Iago Aspas having a bad game. He scored a goal in the first half that was very controversially ruled out for offside but then kept shooting from long range and hitting the back of the stand.

Although it was a bad result last week, Celta are a team perfectly capable of scoring. Their attacking midfielders and forwards are good enough to cause problems and they could easily have replaced Iago Aspas with John Guidetti at half time, but coach Eduardo Berizzo refused to do so. Celta will now be forced to come up with something different at the Santiago Bernabeu.

I think that Celta could score and Real Madrid will certainly score no less than three. Therefore my tip for this game is Real to win and over 3.5 goals.
