Who can stop Rafael Nadal?
Chasing a record-extending 14th title and a record 21st Grand Slam title in Roland Garros, Rafael Nadal is edging closer to his goals. The Spaniard has not lost a set in the French Open since 2019 when he lost one to Thiem in the final.
As always the matador is the number one contender to win this year again but he will face a difficult challenge from an in-form Schwartzman.
It is a repeat of the 2020 French Open semi-final when Nadal won in straight sets. In the last round, the third seed beat Jannik Sinner in three sets.
It was a close first set as Nadal had to save a set point at 5-4 and went on to win 7-5. From then on it was a training game for Nadal as he went on to win the next two sets 6-3 and 6-0.
Diego Schwartzman hoping to maintain his form
The Argentine had a very good season in 2020 reaching his career-high ranking of number eight and playing in the ATP finals. He also reached the semi-final of the French Open and had beaten Nadal for the first time in Rome last year.
Schwartzman couldn’t maintain his form this year. Apart from winning his home tournament in Buenos Aires, the world number nine lost in the first round of Monaco, Madrid, Rome, and Lyon.
Diego is having a great French Open so far. He has won all his four matches in straight sets and didn’t look to be troubled in any of them. His longest match was against Struff of Germany that went on for just over three hours.

Rafael Nadal vs Diego Schwartzman Prediction
It has been business as usual for Rafael Nadal in the French Open as he reaches the quarter-finals and all bookies are setting him as the favorite to advance to the semis.
With just one win in 11 meetings with Nadal, Schwartzman must find a way to boost his confidence as he faces one of his toughest opponents over the years. The Argentine needs to vary his game or play hard and go for winners at every chance.
We think Nadal will win and since the odds are too low at 1.04 we will bet on played games during the match.
