Philadelphia 76ers
After eliminating the Wizards 4-1 in the first round, the 76ers will have to face the Hawks with big doubts about the availability of their MVP candidate Joel Embiid who missed the fifth game against the Washington Wizards due to a small Meniscus tear. Coach Doc Rivers’ team managed to beat the Wizards in game five without Embiid, but the 2.13cm center will be crucial for their next series against the Hawks.
Embiid is averaging 24 points and 6.8 rebounds in the four games he played in the playoffs. He is slightly below his regular-season average of 28.8. Doc Rivers will be happy with other players’ contributions though. In the fifth game against the Wizards, Seth Curry scored 30 and Tobias Harris 28 points while Ben Simmons had a triple-double and led his team to victory.
Atalanta Hawks
Trae Young has been the key player for the Atalanta Hawks in their series win against the New York Knicks. Young is averaging 29.2 points per game in the playoffs. In game five Young scored 36 points coupled with nine assists. He will coach Nate McMillan’s main man in this series in the offensive third.
The Hawks are shooting 44.3% from the field slightly behind their season average of 46.8%. Coach McMillan’s team must be at their best in this series. Clint Capela and John Collins have been very effective with their offensive rebounds and that could be a very important turning point in this game especially if Embiid doesn’t play.
Key Points
- The 76ers are averaging 124 points per game in the playoffs
- The Hawks are averaging 104 points per game in the playoffs
- Philadelphia are shooting 51.1% from the field
- Atalanta are shooting 36% from the three-point arc
Philadelphia 76ers vs Atalanta Hawks Prediction
The 76ers proved they can win without Joel Embiid in game five. That will give a huge confidence boost to coach Rivers and his team. But still much depends on the Cameroonian’s health and whether he will be able to play game one o Sunday.
The Hawks have the ability to dominate the board without Embiid with Collins and Capela having exceptional playoffs so far at the frontcourt. Coach McMillan’s job will not be easy though against one of the best defensive teams in the NBA.
We think it will be a very exciting series and we will find a lot of betting opportunities to make some gains. We predict this one will be a low-scoring game.
