League leaders Real Madrid travel to take on the ever-leaky defence of Osasuna at El Sadar on Saturday night – a match that presents the high-flying visitors with an excellent opportunity to further their title claims by racking up a fair few goals.

As touched on several times when talking about Osasuna this season, the hosts continue to struggle and, as each match-day passes, it’s looking more and more likely that Los Rojillos will be plying their trade in the second division next season.

The attacking might of Real Madrid should be more than capable of going to Pamplona and heaping yet more pressure on Osasuna. At odds of 13/8 and 11/5 respectively, ‘Real Madrid to Win -2 Handicap’ and ‘Real Madrid to Score Over 3.5 Goals’ are the angles of attack here.

As they do year after year, Real continue to look a cut above the lesser teams in La Liga (Osasuna certainly fit into that bracket) and really ought to have the tools to do some serious damage in this match. In a season where Zidane’s men have already scored six at Betis, three at Atlético, four at Alavés and three at Sociedad, it would be hard for even the most pessimistic of punters to avoid backing them filling their boots against the host’s sieve-like defence.

In fairness to Osasuna, they have started to score a few more goals but they probably won’t see enough of the ball for such a trend to continue here, while their defence remains seemingly incapable of keeping out even the less forceful teams. Considering that Petar Vasiljević’s side have conceded 12 goals in their last five matches, their dismal defensive run looks set to continue against the powerhouses from the capital.

The way that the hosts slumped to three goals losses when they faced both Barcelona and Atlético at home also bodes well. Couple this with the fact that Real Madrid are averaging more shots on goal than any other team in La Liga on their travels and the only conclusion to be drawn is that the home side look in trouble here.

On paper this is a mismatch and when the two meet each other on the pitch such a notion should be proven. With this in mind, the aforementioned bets are well worth placing prior to Osasuna having yet another nail put into their La Liga coffin.
