Olympiacos vs Fenerbahce: Prediction and Betting Tips

19:00, Mar 26 2021
Olympiacos vs Fenerbahce prediction for Friday’s round 31 of the Euroleague clash at Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus. Olympiacos of Greece, at 12th place on the Euroleague standings, host Fenerbahce of Turkey who are sixth. Read along for our free prediction and betting tips.

Olympiacos on a difficult mission

After three consecutive wins in their last three matches, Olympiacos are doing their best to catch up with a playoff spot at the eighth spot. Even though mathematically it’s possible but it will be hard to expect teams like Zenit and Real Madrid to lose all their remaining matches while the Greeks win all theirs.

The three-win streak was preceded by a seven-match losing spell which had done the damage and saw coach Georgios Bartzokas’s team fall behind. Having an average of 48.84% shooting record from all distances didn’t help the Greek side to be among the top eight.

In their last match away to Alba Berlin, Olympiacos had a 50% shooting from all distances hitting 14 three-pointers from 32 attempts. The big difference in the match was the Greek’s 40 rebounds of which forward Vezenkov had 10  accompanied by match-high 31 points.

Fenerbahce looking for a win to secure a playoff spot

Even though sitting at sixth place on the Euroleague standings, Fenerbahce have still not secured a spot in the final-eight playoffs. The Turkish team still needs two wins from their remaining four games. A win in Piraeus is very crucial as they still have to play Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Coach Kokoskov’s team had a very good season so far and they won’t want to throw away this chance, thus they want to win in Piraeus. After a long run of victories, the Turkish side had a couple of hiccups but won their last match against Zalgiris.

Fenerbahce had a very good performance in that last match shooting almost 59% from all distances, knowing that they are the second-best shooting team in the league with 52.23%.

Key Stats

  • Olympiacos have won their last two home games
  • Olympiacos have their last two home games by over 14 points
  • Fenerbahce have won two of their last three games
  • Fenerbahce have scored an average of 69 points in their last three away matches

Olympiacos vs Fenerbahce Prediction

After three straight wins, Olympiacos are on the right track towards a top-eight finish but they need a win in this match as this can be their last chance. The Greek side lost in Istanbul in the first match by seven points.

Fenerbahce have shown what they are made of already this season when they had an 11 match winning run and with Jan Vesely and Nando De Colo in great form recently, they will be very tough to beat.

Fenerbahce are favorites to win this match with the bookies. We predict it will be a very close match and tough defense on key players from both sides will be the main aim of both coaches which may restrict the scoring opportunities.
