Notts County may have lost two of their last three but it is fair to say that they have been rejuvenated under new manager Kevin Nolan and they are still one of the most in form teams in the league with 14 points from their last eight, putting them eight points above the drop-zone.

The Magpies have improved in both boxes during Nolan’s tenure so far with 13 scored, making them the highest scorers in the bottom four, in their last eight as well as three clean sheets since the former Leyton Orient manager’s arrival. Having said that, they still have the worst defensive record in the division with 65 goals conceded in 37 matches.

Much of the fantastic work that Nolan has done has been at home and they are so far undefeated at Meadow Lane in the six games under his stewardship.

Barnet seem to already have their flip flops on, demonstrated by the fact they have not won in their last six, as they are not going to be in the play-offs whilst they are more than safe for the season. The last time the Bees won a game was before Kevin Nugent was appointed as manager in mid-February.

Defence has been the big problem Barnet and they have conceded 51 goals over the course of the season. Furthermore, they have not kept a clean sheet since Nugent’s arrival. They have had their shooting boots on in the last couple of matches though with four goals scored, however, a poor defence means they cannot buy a win at the moment.

The Bees have been better away from home than they have been at home with 27 points from 18 compared to 21 points from 19 at The Hive Stadium. However, as mentioned above, Nugent has still failed to win a game as Barnet manager – including one on the road.

Notts County will have the bigger motivation to pick up points here and Barnet will be low of confidence. Therefore, the home win at 29/20 is certainly a bet to be on.
