This match is between two sides who place a lot of emphasis on attacking football and are amongst the top scorers in their respective divisions (Premier League/Championship) so we should be in for an absolute cracker here.

Former European champions Forest have scored 16 goals in the Championship this season with their superb attacking line which boasts the likes of Britt Assombalonga and Apostolos Vellios. However, the downfall of many Championship sides – keeping goals out – has also had an impact on Forest. Philippe Montanier’s side have conceded 17 goals this campaign which is the joint worst in the league and no doubt the reason they sit 13th rather than in the promotion race.

After snatching a point away at Aston Villa a week ago, the two matches since then have seen Forest drop points from winning positions. From the Rotherham and Norwich games they managed just one point despite being in front in both matches.

Championship sides are usually a bit hit and miss in the League Cup with many often prioritising promotion over a tilt at knockout silverware, however, Forest need a win after three successive matches without victory so they will likely take this match against Arsenal (who are likely to weaken their team) quite seriously.

Another chapter in the story of this match is Nicklas Bendtner. The former Arsenal man is likely to start against his old club after clocking up just two substitute appearances since signing for the Reds earlier this month. The Dane will be determined to prove a point against his former employers.

The Gunners have a reputation of using the League Cup as an opportunity and they will more than likely do the same this time around. However, with Arsenal’s academy producing some of the finest young talent in the country, the squad should still remain competitive.

After a rocky start to the Premier League season, Arsene Wenger’s team have picked up in recent weeks. They have won their last three domestic matches as well as earning a valuable away draw against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League despite being under the cosh for most of the game.

In terms of a winner I find this match hard to predict as it entirely depends which teams turn up. We could see an Arsenal team come and sweep aside Forest but on the other hand we could see a young Gunners team crumble under the attacking pressure the Reds have the potential of creating.

All I can say for certain is that there will be goals in this match and both teams should score. You can get Both Teams to Score and No Draw at 5/4 whilst I would also look at Over 2.5 Goals Total and Both Teams to Score.

If you are more inclined to think that one team will dominate the entire match (probably Arsenal) then I would go for Over 3.5 goals at 31/20 which also looks a very good bet.
