Norwich City v Huddersfield Town Betting Tip
Friday’s Championship match sees two play-off hopefuls go head-to-head as Huddersfield Town travel to Norwich City.
Norwich are currently eighth in the Championship after a rather inconsistent season to date with no back-to-back wins since October.
Goals are not a problem for Alex Neil’s men as they’re joint-second in the goal-scoring charts with 36. However, the fact they are leaking plenty of goals at the back means they have been unable to, as of yet at least, put in a proper promotion challenge. Their record of 32 goals conceded in 21 games is the joint-fourth worst in the division.
However, The Canaries will feel fairly confident going into this match against Huddersfield as they have an excellent record at Carrow Road, dropping points just three times on home turf all season.
Huddersfield Town’s automatic promotion push has dwindled in recent times with The Terriers now seven points off the top two.
The front-line has been a bit of a problem for David Wagner’s team which, despite having heavily-touted striker Nakhi Wells in it, has scored just 24 goals this season – fewer than most teams in and around mid-table. On this basis, it’s easy to feel that there’s been a lack of bite from The Terriers. It has been Huddersfield’s defensive record which has kept them inside the top six although even that has not been exceptional with 25 goals conceded.
Wagner’s men won their last away match, against Burton Albion on Tuesday night, but have generally been pretty poor on the road this campaign with four wins all season and just one victory in their last five matches away from the John Smith’s Stadium.
The home side are the favourites here and I would go along with the bookies, however, seeking out something that offers a bigger return than a straight Norwich win is the way to go and ‘Norwich City to Win & Over 1.5 Goals’ fits the bill. Norwich matches tend to have a high number of goals and I think we will see the same here against a fellow promotion chasing side, while the hosts look as though they’ve got more than enough about them to collect another three points.
