Heroic performance in midweek
In Tuesday’s match, Newcastle drew 1-1 with Norwich and despite being down to ten men from the ninth minute due to Ciaran Clark’s needless sending off, the Magpies were unlucky not to take all three points.
Players such as the much-maligned Joelinton and early substitute Federico Fernandez put in magnificent shifts, and it looked like Callum Wilson’s 61st minute penalty would be enough.
However, Newcastle came unstuck and conceded 11 minutes from time thanks to a fantastic volley from Teemu Pukki. This game against Burnley is an absolute must win for Newcastle and they should derive some confidence from their performance against Norwich.

Three draws in a row for Burnley
Burnley are unbeaten in four games now with their last three being draws. Despite this, Burnley are now in the relegation zone.
They along with Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Brighton have the most draws with seven, over half of Burnley’s games have ended in draws.
The fact they are picking up points away from home will please manager, Sean Dyche, but he will know he has a task on his hands with his side struggling for goals away from home.
Newcastle United vs Burnley predictions
With this game contested between two of the Premier League’s draw specialists it would be easy to predict the draw, and this has a chance of happening.
However, Newcastle came so close to beating Norwich despite being down to ten men for all but nine minutes of the match. We believe that performance will spur Newcastle on to finally get their first league win.
The statistic on Newcastle leading five home matches out of seven and not picking up a win cannot be ignored though and the 9/2 price about Burnley to come from behind and win or draw makes a good cover bet.
