The first leg of this Champions League tie was one of the most entertaining games in the history of the European Cup as it finished 5-3 to Manchester City. Fans at the Stade Louis II will be hoping for more of the same in this second-leg.

Monaco have won each of their four matches since that loss to City and are three points clear at the top of Ligue 1.

Leonardo Jardim’s side are one of the most attack-minded teams around and have scored an incredible 84 goals in their 29 league matches so far this campaign. Furthermore, they have found the back of the net in every competitive match since 7th December 2016. However, as we saw against Man City, their defence is vulnerable and they have kept just one clean sheet in their last six matches in all competitions. It looks highly unlikely that they will stop this City attack on Wednesday.

The Red and Whites are on a fantastic run at home at the moment and have won 14 of their last 15 matches at Stade Louis II in all competitions. Unsurprisingly they have the best home record in Ligue 1 with 40 points taken from a possible 45, scoring in 100% of them.

Manchester City managed to recover from their drab 0-0 draw at home to Stoke City to record a decent 2-0 win against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup at the weekend, stretching their unbeaten run to 11 in all competitions.

Like Monaco, as we saw in the first leg, Pep Guardiola’s men are fantastic going forward and have scored 14 goals in their last five outings. They may not have the best offense in the Premier League but their total of 53 in 27 games is still highly respectable. The Citizens may have kept three consecutive clean sheets in their last three matches but whether they can do it against the top sides is another question – the evidence so far this season suggests they cannot.

Interestingly, City’s away form is better than their home form and they are undefeated in their last six on the road in all competitions, keeping clean sheets in each of those.

This match is likely to have a high number of goals but, just like they did at home, City are likely to have the edge. The visitors have a two-goal cushion and should be afforded a lot of space to counter here. They proved at the Etihad in the first leg that they are the better side and, at 8/5, backing City to win is the way to go.
