The Bucks duo guide them to the conference finals

After eliminating the favorites to win the NBA the Brooklyn Nets in the semis, the Bucks find themselves in the final of the Eastern Conference for the second time in three years. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton led their team in the semi-finals and they didn’t disappoint the hopes that were put on them by the Milwaukee fans.

The duo combined for a 63 point performance in game seven against the Nets in New York and set up another chance to guide the Bucks to their first NBA finals appearance since 1974. The Bucks averaged 102 points and 44% shooting against the Nets. Coach Budenholzer’s team needs better numbers against the Hawks if they want to reach the finals.

Bucks Key Stats

  • The Bucks are averaging 108 points per game in the playoffs
  • 31.2% is the Bucks average from the arc in the playoffs
  • The Bucks have the lowest free throw average in the playoffs with 70.7%

How far can the Hawks reach as underdogs?

In one of the most unexpected outcomes of the playoffs, the Atlanta Hawks eliminated the East Conference’s number one seed the Philadelphia 76ers after a thrilling seven-game series. The Hawks have a very good mix of young talents like Trae Young, John Collins, and Bogdan Bogdanovic and veterans who add experience to the squad like Capella, Gallinari, and Williams.

Interim coach McMilan’s main concern will be Trae Young’s injury to his right shoulder. Young scored 21 points in game seven and helped his teammates with ten assists. It was a more group performance by the Hawks in game seven as the scoring was distributed between five or more players rather than relying on Young.

Hawks Key Stats

  • The Hawks are averaging 106.7 points per game in the playoffs
  • 34.6% is the percentage of the Hawks from the arc in the playoffs
  • The Hawks are making 80.7% of their free throws in the playoffs

Milwaukee Bucks vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction

These two teams met three times in the regular season and the Bucks hold a 2-1 lead in their H2H. Both teams have won their Eastern Conference semi-final games as underdogs.

The Bucks are now the favorites to win the series with an odds of 1.24 and have not lost at the Fiserv Forum in the playoffs this season. If Giannis and Middleton continue their performances, the Bucks will be very difficult to beat.

The Hawks won three games on the road against the 76ers and two against the Knicks meaning they don’t get intimidated playing on hostile courts. If they can put on a group performance as they did in game seven against the 76ers they will be tough to beat.

We think the Bucks have a better chance of winning this game but the odds are too low to back them hence will back the total points of the game.
