This League One playoff match sees two sides who have enjoyed scoring goals in recent times go head-to-head.

Millwall managed to recover from two consecutive defeats towards the end of the season to finish on a high with a win against Bristol Rovers ensuring they finished ahead of Southend United and confirming their play-off place.

The Lions had built most of their second half of the season on having a solid defensive record. However, they have now gone the other way with goals flying in (13 in their last eight), including four in that aforementioned match against Bristol Rovers. Unfortunately for them, this rather attacking philosophy means they have been leaky at the back, as demonstrated by the fact they have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight.

Neil Harris’s team lost their last match at home to Oxford United, however, before then they had been fantastic with no loss in 15 games in all competitions. This brilliant run also included an impressive 11 clean sheets.

Scunthorpe put together a superb run towards the end of the season with five straight wins, securing their play-off position but unfortunately placing them just four points behind Bolton Wanderers in the automatic promotion spots.

The Iron have been one of League One’s most entertaining teams this season with an incredible 80 goals scored in just 46 games – second-best in the league – including eight in their last three games. Defensively though, they, like Millwall in recent times, have been a bit dodgy with no clean sheet in their last three.

Away form had been a huge concern for Graham Alexander’s men until the last couple of matches with four consecutive losses and no wins in seven. However, they have now won their last two on the road, albeit against rather weak opponents in the form of MK Dons and Swindon Town.

Although Scunthorpe have been on a good run of late, you cannot ignore Millwall’s fantastic home record. It is also well worth noting that these two sides met at The Den recently with Millwall coming out on top by a 3-1 scoreline. The home win at 21/20 is the the best option.
