This match sees play-off hopefuls Millwall take on Milton Keynes Dons who seem set for mid-table obscurity.

Millwall are one of the country’s most in form teams at the moment with no defeats in any competition in their last 16 matches. Promotion is of course the main priority of Neil Harris’s side and they currently sit in the play-offs and two points clear of 7th place with no signs of the good run coming to an end.

The Lions have been absolutely fantastic in defence and have not conceded a goal in any competition in their last nine matches which in turn has boosted their clean sheet percentage in the league up to an impressive 35%. Millwall do not score many goals so sometimes struggle to turn draws into wins, however, when you are keeping clean sheets for fun, you are pretty much guaranteed points.

Harris’s men have been sublime at home and have not lost in any match at The Den since 10th December 2016. This excellent run means that the Lions’ home record is currently the fourth-best in League One. Furthermore, they have not conceded a goal at home in any competition in the entire of 2017 so far.

Earlier in the season it looked like MK Dons may struggle to survive and suffer back-to-back relegations. However, under new manager Robbie Neilson’s guidance, The Dons have managed to get out of trouble and push themselves into the safety of mid-table although they have now lost a bit of focus.

MK Dons have been pretty average in both boxes so far this campaign with 44 scored and 43 conceded in 34 league matches. Overall the Dons have kept clean sheets in 29% of their games so far this season, however, they have only kept one in their last five.

Robbie Neilson’s team have been poor on the road of late with just one win in their last six league matches on the road, failing to score in all but one of them.

Unsurprisingly, Millwall are the only team to side with here. Backing the hosts to win is certainly worth doing at 6/5, but for a greater return, ‘Millwall to Win to Nil’, at 5/2, given The Lions’ excellent defensive record at home, and The Dons’ poor scoring record on their travels, also catches the eye.
