These two sides may be at opposite ends of League One but they are both in very good form and so this could be an interesting match-up.

Millwall have managed to break into the play-off places after a brilliant run of recent form which has seen them go unbeaten in their last 14 league matches.

Defensive solidity has been the Lions’ best asset this season, particularly in 2017, and the recent goal they conceded in their win against Milton Keynes Dons was only the fourth they’ve conceded in League One during this calendar year, despite playing 11 matches. The fact they still managed to win against the Dons in their last league game despite conceding shows that Millwall are capable of scoring goals going forward, although they are by no means prolific.

Neil Harris’s side have been fantastic at The Den and have the fourth- best home record in the division. Furthermore, the previously-mentioned defence is especially good on home soil with just one goal conceded in all competitions in 2017.

Lee Clark’s arrival at Bury has been a turning point for the club and they have won four of the six games he has been in charge for and lost just once, boosting them up to 18th and a massive six points clear of the relegation zone. However, safety is nowhere near guaranteed due to 21st place Port Vale having three games in hand.

Although they still have the worst defensive record in the division, the Shakers have improved defensively since Clark arrived at the club with clean sheets in half of the matches the former Birmingham City manager has taken charge of. Fortunately for them though, they have not lost their goal-scoring touch and are still the third-highest scorers in League One with 57 goals in 38 games.

Bury’s away form has been very good since Clark took the job and they are undefeated in their three games on the road during his tenure whilst they have also kept clean sheets in each of their last two away matches.

Even though Bury have improved drastically in the last few weeks and are decent away from home, I am backing Millwall here but do not expect many goals in total, despite Bury’s good goal-scoring record.

Bury failed to score against Oldham away last week and Millwall are a very similar team at the back so they may struggle again. ‘Millwall to Win & Under 3.5 Goals’ looks a very good bet at 7/5.
