A done deal for Manchester United
The Reds are in with a chance to continue their quest for silverware this season by winning the Europa League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have made it easy for themselves in the first leg as they got a step closer to lifting the UEL title for the second time in their history after 2016.
After being eliminated from the Champions League in the group stages, United are doing very well in the Europa League with three wins in five matches and four clean sheets. Having eliminated Real Sociedad and AC Milan who are both doing very well in their domestic leagues, The Reds are looking very focused to win this trophy.
In the first leg, United imposed their dominance on the game and created many chances with 13 goal attempts two of which hit the back of the net. Although many players are missing from this game, Solskjaer would have rested them anyway as the season nears its critical phase.
Can Granada pull a miracle?
The fairytale will most probably end at Old Trafford on Thursday unless Granada can pull off something of a miracle to turn this tie around. The Spanish side had a very good first-ever campaign in the Europa League this season conquering the likes of Napoli on their way to the Quarter-Finals.
Granada broke a spell of four defeats in a row at the weekend by winning away at Valladolid. Coach Diego Martinez will urge his players to put up a fight and hope for a positive result as they have done against PSV and won their first match of the season in Eindhoven.
With four losses in the Europa League from 11 games, scoring nine goals and conceding the same amount doesn’t make Granada a dangerous opponent for this match but the Spanish side will try their best.
Key Stats
- Manchester United have conceded just one goal in five matches in the UEL
- Manchester United haven’t lost a game in the UEL in five games
- Granada have scored six of their nine goals away from home in the UEL
- Granada have one win in five games in all competitions
Manchester United vs Granada Prediction
The Reds prepared very well for this match by beating Tottenham in the Premier League. United are on a three-win streak and have lost just one match in 19 games, scoring seven goals in three games.
Granada will feel they prepared well by beating Valladolid away from home in the La Liga but United are on a different level and will take a much bigger effort from the Spanish side to overcome United at Old Trafford.
We are backing a home win for this one.
