Bulgarian champions Ludogorets’ nine-match unbeaten run came to an end last week at the hands of Malmo FF. Indeed the Eagles’ triumph over Olympiacos in the last round was short-lived. In fact, overturning a 2-0 first leg cushion seems a very hard task for coach Dambrauskas’ team. On the positive side though, Ludogorets are unbeaten at home in six matches this season.
During the first leg and despite the Bulgarian champion’s superior ball possession, the home side had many more chances. Then again, the Swedes won three of their last five away games and drew two. Hence, if Tomasson’s team can maintain that form in this match, they will find themselves in the CL group stage this year. That would be their first since the 2015-16 season.

However, Malmo conceded just 0.6 goals per game in their last five away games and had three clean sheets in five games. That makes it very difficult for Ludogorets to achieve their goal.
