Liverpool v Leicester City Betting Tips
These two teams who many expect to do well this season are currently sitting in mid-table and are yet to really see their respective campaigns spark into life. This match could be a catalyst for them to get up and running.
Liverpool have flattered to deceive so far this season and, despite looking decent going forward, they are terrible in defence and look all over the place. The Reds are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and have the joint worst goals against record having already conceded six. They did nothing to rectify this on transfer deadline day and their shoddy back-line could be their major downfall this season.
Last season’s surprise champions Leicester are unlikely to win the title again this season and manager Claudio Ranieri has stated that they are firstly looking to reach that all important 40 point barrier before looking at a top ten spot. They had a rocky start by losing away at newly-promoted Hull but managed to get their season back on track with a respectable draw against Arsenal before holding on to record a 2-1 victory against Swansea in the rain. Deadline day signing Islam Slimani will provide good competition to Jamie Vardy and is a proven goalscorer in Europe.
The bookies have gone with Liverpool on this one. Although it is their first match back at Anfield this season after renovation works, I am not sure they will actually do much against Leicester. Their defence is all over the place and with that in mind I cannot see passed a Leicester win at 23/5
As previously mentioned their defence is a shambles and seems to hate being put under pressure when on the ball. Jamie Vardy is the perfect striker to take advantage of this and I would certainly back him to score anytime at 13/5. The England international had endured a difficult start to the season but broke his goal duck last time out against Swansea with an emphatic finish.
A final bet I would advise is a Leicester win and three or more goals in the game at 7/1. A simple 2-1 victory for the Foxes would see this highly profitable bet come off. If the visitors can take advantage of Liverpool’s weak defence then they could easily put them to the sword on the counter.
